Via EngadgetMicrosoft working up StartKey Windows companion

I love the idea here, but I’m surprised Microsoft is doing it.  Pre-configured USB keys have been in a geeks toolbelt for years and it’s generally only a matter of time before those things hit the masses with a good profit margin.

Via The Bachelor GuyGot an Idea? Add it to the Kluster
If you’ve ever thought you could come up with better stuff than what’s out there, then it’s time to get your Kluster on.

The best part about kluster, IMO, is the analogy. Otherwise it’s essentially a clone of idea center meant to be opened up to anyone.  But the future is going to be branded idea generation on your companies/products own communities.

Via ReadWriteWebWhat Stanford Learned Building Facebook Apps
BJ and his two teacher assistants shared 10 tips they learned from the experience.

So, what you’ll learn here is that building an app on facebook is just like building a successful app anywhere else.  Not everything has been done yet. If it has, you can always do it better. Simple apps that are easy to use will do best.  There you go kids, no need to go to Stanford now.

Google has released a version of Google Gears that runs on Windows Mobile 5.

Now when will they use this for gmail and reader mobile?

Via Download SquadThwirl now lets you post to Twitter, Jaiku, and Pownce simultaneously

I don’t need this extra functionality, but so far thwirl is the best twitter client. If only it would also let me post to facebook.

Via Go Big AlwaysProductivity software should learn from game design
Shouldn’t productivity software make us want to work? I mean, it’s goal is to make us (and our company) more productive.

Google, and a whole host of other companies are teaching us every day that enterprise apps don’t have to be boring.

My good buddy Kazi Manzur Rashid has made out a cool project named Kigg , it looks like DotnetKics but even more powerful than Digg  🙂 .

Pretty cool project.

Via EngadgetMicrosoft said to have dropped $500 million on Danger
Filed under: Cellphones While Microsoft was doing little to hide how much it was willing to spend on Yahoo!, the company’s been decidedly more coy about exactly how much it dropped to pick up Sidekick-maker Danger earlier this week.

Talk about poor timing.  This news was completely swept under the dark cloud created by Microsoft’s take over bid of Yahoo.  It’s about time Microsoft started to realize that they need to extend the hardware business into phones if they really want to be successful.  This seems to have a lot more potential than spending 40 billion on duplicate services.
