So Apple tells developers they shouldn’t use flash on the iPhone and Microsoft gets Nokia to install Silverlight. It feels like we’re living in Bizarro world… unless you like crazy rumors.
Why did Apple delay their SDK announcement for two weeks? Something smells like last minute deal. Could Silverlight on the iPhone be far behind? Sure, they may compete on lots of fronts, but Apple and Microsoft also have a few cozy relationships. Microsoft has also been known to partner with other big companies on some efforts while competing with others. (see Nokia)
I’m sure tomorrow we’ll find out Apple was just gearing up to say “No Flash… Just Air” or “Cocoa Floats”, but… Did I mention that the SDK delay pushed their announcement into Microsoft MIX Event? Maybe both sides are unsettled about Android and Google… sure would be neato.
