Rockn’ the Seattle to Portland
Tomorrow my friends and I will be rockn’ the Seattle to Portland{.} ride. The first day anyway. I’m behind the recommended training because of my baseball schedule and having been hit by a car when I should have been ramping up the mileage. So the result is that I haven’t yet ridden more than 70 miles in a day and 30 the next day. Tomorrow we’ll be doing the first 100 and Sunday will bring the next 100.
I think my blog has more readers in Facebook
My link-post to the “open friends list movement” has two comments on Facebook already and none on ledgards.com. I think what’s interesting about this is that Facebook is acting like a notifier to friends that otherwise might have skipped over posts in their river of news.
6 Days Outside of “The Soft”
So it’s been almost 2 weeks since I left Microsoft for Telligent, but because of vacation I’ve only worked 6 days. Here are some random thoughts I’ve been meaning to blog.
Chicken Chilaquiles or Mexican Lasagna?
Gret and I tried this recipe earlier in the week. I’d give the results a 2 of 5. If you wanted to try this I’d highly recommend using only 6 or 8 of the corn tortillas and make a bit more of the tomatillo sauce because I think the recipe, as described, comes out too dry.
No Sense Linking up Twice
I remember when I started working at Microsoft. Everyone there used MSN Messenger (if they used IM… most didn’t at first) and I was the new guy from college that used AIM because all my friends where there. If a friend was on both AIM and MSN I added them twice so that no matter what app I was using my friends list was as consistent as possible. Those days are gone.
Missing from Feedburner
There is something obviuos missing from Feedburner now that they’ve been purchased by Google. It’s a link splicer for Google Reader.
A Parting Gift for Microsofties: Free Mocha
I realized that there were so many blog entries I hadn’t written about life at Microsoft. Of all the posts I had in mind I think this has to be the most important since it has to do with free caffine. We all know that Microsoft has those swanky iCup machines from starbucks, but did you know you can make yourself a really good mocha as well as drip coffee?
Slow Start to Cascade Diablo Season
We lost on opening day and split our next two games. In these three games I’ve had some observations.
Stovetop Sausage Mac and Cheese
I’ve made this simple recipe a few times now since I spotted it in Cooking Light. It’s one of those where you question the “light-ness”, but you really don’t need a larger serving since it’s very filling.
2nd Opinion on the Bike is Better
After being told by one bike shop that it was totaled I went to a different one to go new bike shopping. I dropped my bike off in the meantime so they could swap components off of it. I was expecting them to call and give me a price for the new bike I speced out, but instead the tech called to tell me that unless I had insurance the bike would be perfectly fine to ride.
