Trick Vista into using unsupported printer drivers for a shared printer
So I have an HP photosmart 1115 printer in my house. I tried a couple of times to get it working briefly from my work vista machines, but gave up and have been printing from an XP machine. After upgrading the XP machine I had to come up with a solution to the issue. The issue, of course, being that HP dropped driver support for this version of the Photosmart printers. So Vista says it’s not compatible.

I read the Jason Calacanis post about saving money and hiring workaholics and the first thing I thought was that it fit perfectly with his personal world view and experience. A world view where the secret to personal wealth and success is to create something you don’t care to last by building as much value as quickly as possible before selling it off to someone that’s going to buy it before all your rock-stars burn out completely.
Chunky Potato-Crab Chowder
If I were to make this again I’d recommend adding a little more salt and pepper for flavor than it recommends. Less healthy, perhaps, but it tastes better.
